Watercolour is a fascinating medium to use. It is in many ways more challenging than acrylics or oils to use because of its rapid drying time. Its advantage lies in the close interaction that each drop of paint makes with the paper, from smooth surfaces to rough fibres. The texture of the paper allows for precise detail or the generation of a diffuse sparkle. Watercolour can produce a delicacy of work that is less commonly found with other media. It can also be used in combination with other media adding a unique element to a mixed media image.
